Visit with Neurosurgeon
Hello Everyone,
Just a quick post to let you all know about Maria's visit with her neurosurgeon on Monday - he took a lot of X-rays and determined that everything looks great and that she could likely get her braces (neck and body) off in two weeks - that is Monday, October 16th! That will be another HUGE step and make Ree's life much easier.
Maria has been having lots of visitors, and is up and about a lot - tomorrow we have a big outing for cousin Christina's birthday party. Her scabs are off her head and she is looking great. It was really fun to have Albee home for the weekend (Will was in town the weekend before, I don't think I mentioned that).
Other than that, she is just being patient and getting stronger every day - she still loves everything that people are sending, so thanks for that! Hope everyone is having a lovely evening. And for those of you who have sent me recipies, thank you!

Hello all, but especially MARIA! I just heard about your accident, and am really so so so sorry about all of this, but so so so SOOOOOOOOO relieved that you are on the fabulous road to recovery.
I've always thought you to be one of the most inspirational, wonderful women I've had the pleasure to work with, teach with, coach, cheer, and Warrior Period with :). Your energy and enthusiasm was contagious, and your spirit made (and still makes!!!) everyone smile. I love reading that these qualities haven't disappeared despite your trauma...I can just imagine you keeping everyone laughing, making everyone comfortable.
You keep up the good work, okay? Please know that my thoughts are with you, your friends, and your amazing family. If there is anything you need, or anything I can do, please know I'm just an email away!

I'm so glad to hear, through Kiira, that you're making such progress. She says you're back to the old Maria we know and love.
I had hoped to have you over to watch a movie on the couch with Kiira, but we're leaving for Travis' wedding soon, and Kiira's working, so I guess it'll have to wait until after we get back. I'm really looking forward to seeing you!

I thought that posting had finished so I am pleasantly surprised to find more info! Maria, although I only spoke to you a couple of days ago, I wanna say "hello!" and hope you're having a good week so far....I've just chosen a book from my collection (humble though it is) and I'll send it out ASAP. here is my zucchini bisque recipe- hope it can still be useful!

2C chopped zucchini
1C water
1/2 C tomato juice
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 bullion cube
1 teaspoon of basil
8 ounces cream cheese
Combine zucchini, water, tomato juice, onion, bullion, basil into sauce pan. Cook covered for 20 minutes. Blend in blender briefly, then add cream cheese and blend until smooth. Serve immediately. We think it's only enough for 2 people.

My name is Sarah Skilling and I went to college with Maria and Albee. I worked with Albee at the school newspaper and got to spend time with Maria a few times as well. I just talked to Albee for the first time in a long time on Saturday and heard about Maria's accident. If you could let her know I am thinking about her and that I think she is one of the funniest, most amazingly talented people I've met in my life thus far. Also, I totally thought she deserved to win Pullman Idol, but I'm a little biased. My thoughts and prayers are with her and I hope every day is better and better.

Maria Maria Maria, I am so happy to get this continous goodnews coming from your direction and I am just hoping that the last month of no-posts is an indicator of your on-going well-being. As you well know, you are pretty much my hero and I think of you at least twice a day either in passing or becuase something makes me laugh or reminds me of your absolute hilarity. You do know that if you need an alternate recovery zone my door is wide open here in freezing Budapest.
