Hi Team,
Just wanted to give you a quick update - not much new, but Maria had a good night, still in a lot of pain but we are hoping to get her on a PCA (?) - i think that stands for personally controlled something - it is the little hand held device that lets Maria give herself her own pain medication - when the nurse mentioned it last night Ree gave two thumbs up.
Not much else to report, but Albee and I thought we would post some pictures of Ree to spice the page up a little bit - if you have any cute pics you'd like me to post, send them our way. . . my email is cnelson@lawschool.gonzaga.edu. The ones included so far are from Sally (Maria the Starlet), Sarah (Albee and Ree) and Christa (Maria on the streets of NYC with a box of gingersnaps) - thanks ladies! We are loving the ones people put on their profiles, but they're so tiny. . .

You and Albee could read our minds! I've been dying for some cute pictures of that girl looking HOT, wacky, goofy and just "plain" Maria. Thanks for doing this most excellent blog for us all. You're the best! (Give Maria a big hug and tell her I'll massage those black feet any time!)

Glad you slept better last night. I can't wait to get to Montana and hold your hand and tell you some stories. There are some good looking pics of you on this blog-and Albee looks cute too-who do you think picked out the pic? Mar Foley and I had spent some time telling Maria stories on our trip home from Spokane yesterday after dropping Clare off at GU. G-Pa is going to count steel and says he misses you and your beautiful smile-if there is anything he can do to help your recovery let him know. We all love Char

one of my favorite times with you is when we were riding back from seaside listening to music and I would pass you pennies from the dashboard and you would fling them out the window. also, when we wore grandma's floor-length coats downtown and went into every store. love you. get better soon.

Thats great! I just got a text from Carly- so I thought I'd post it in case anyone reads this, but she said "Ree off the vent in one hour, chest x-ray is a 'thing of beauty' . . . pass it on" so . . .I'm passing it on! Great News!

Off the vent, way to go Maria! Here's the pic from when you came to visit a few weeks back. I miss Patches but I miss you more... keep getting better kiddo.
I saw Cooper's post about the accident on the myspace - tell Maria that Nathaniel Jones sends her a huge Duck for Luck, and I hope she gets better soon!

my little reeskie! thrilled with all the good news!! i was going through our pictures and couldn't stop laughing, we're fun. My mom is sending me some pictures to bring to you, i'm just looking forward to all our good times ahead. I keep grabbing my phone to call you, it's a little weird i know but i guess old habbits die hard (i'll let you know that sometimes i do call and just leave messages because i'm a huge dork) I'm down to about two attempts a day now. You are just such a huge part of my everyday life and so important to me i hope you realize this. Basically i miss the heck out of you, you put the razz in my berry.

I just wanted Maria, to know that you have friends praying for you that you don't even know. This will test your mettle and I'm sure you will come through with flying colors. What a great accomplishment getting off that ventilator!! Your progress continues to amaze us all and is an answer to the many prayers on your behalf. It sure sounds like you are receiving outstanding medical care. God Bless you and your wonderful family. Thanks so much Carly for keeping us all informed and up to date.

I am so glad to hear that you are doing better. Keep plugging away. My family and I think of you often and we have the utmost confidence that you will always be the wonderful and spunky young lady that we got to know not so many years ago in high school. I certainly wish you well and I hope that when you are feeling better that maybe we can find a time to visit.
